Hi there! I'm Blerim, but you can call me Bler. My brothers and I run a family construction and carpentry business to transform houses into dream homes with top-notch extensions and refurbishments.
We moved to the UK from Albania 15 years ago, and ever since, we've been passionate about helping people create their perfect living spaces.
We understand the trust involved when working in your home, which is why we focus on impeccable quality and open communication. By focusing our business entirely on South London and committing to one extension at a time, we ensure that we never compromise on the end product. Every project we complete with pride, and we're always on-site, within budget, and on time.
I'm a skilled carpenter (and roofer); my brother Eri is a qualified plumber; and our other brother Imer is a trained painter. Together with the close ties we have with other reputable specialists (think electrical and plastering) we combine our expertise to offer comprehensive solutions for your home improvement needs, bringing a personal touch to every project we undertake.

From Hilaj Brothers to Dulwich Building Co.
You might know us by our original name, Hilaj Brothers Construction. That's what we called ourselves when we first set up as a family business, and it served us well for years. But as our work evolved and our reputation grew, we realised the name didn't quite capture who we'd become.
The truth is, almost all of our projects are in East Dulwich, Dulwich Village, and the surrounding streets. Our clients are our neighbours. We bump into them on Lordship Lane, we see the scaffolding come down on one job and get a call from the house three doors along. This area is where we live and where we work, and we wanted our name to reflect that.
Dulwich Building Co. better represents the quality of work we produce and the community we serve. We're not a faceless contractor. We're a small, hands-on, family team who take real pride in every extension, loft conversion, and piece of carpentry. Changing our name was about making that clear from the moment someone finds us.
Nothing else has changed. We're the same brothers, the same team, the same commitment to being on site every day, keeping to budget, and communicating openly throughout the build.
